Why is the Greek and Latin language used for scientific naming?

a. There are more descriptive words available.
b.The languages are not currently being used and do not change.
c. The words are more easily understood.
d. Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and used his language.

Another reason could be that Latin was (and is) a universal language that doesn’t discriminate as far as people being able to understand it. For example, until quite recently I think there was a square in Paris whose official language was Latin because so many different languages were spoken there.
Also Greek and Latin are older languages and those metals used in science were discovered and named by people who spoke those languages (I’m thinking about gold, silver, lead etc)

Latin used to be the language that all educated people had in common, especially when it came to writing. If two scholars, each from different countries, wanted to correspond, they did so in Latin.When people started giving names to plants, minerals and so on, it was used because everyone could understand it. Latin is the basis for much of English, French, Spanish and of course Italian. I have never learned Spanish or Italian but did take Latin, and I can read most simple Spanish or Italian because of knowing some Latin.
