What is the easiest and most efficient way to learn Greek?

Me and this girl from Greece have been talking on MSN and she sent me a letter in English. I want to send her a letter in Greek and maybe even talk to her in Greek on the phone. Do you know of a program or book or something that will work efficiently to learn Greek?

Why couldn’t you people give the guy who said Rosetta stone a low rating. the Rosetta stone is expencive, and it doesn’t teach that much. Why do you people hate me.

the easiest and most effective way would be to take a class or find someone whos fluent in both to teach you. If you want to dish out $500 you can buy the Rosetta Stone program but Ive heard its really not a great way to learn, it’ll help you with some common phrases and vocabulary but isnt really a great way to become fluent. Theres plenty of online free lessons that’ll be useful for a beginner, just do an internet search for something along the lines of "Learn Greek Online" or "Free Greek Lessons", you should be able to find some good sites and you can always ask the girl you talk to to help you learn
Cultivate friendships with Greek speaking people your own age and make them aware of why you want to read, write and speak their language. I did so and opened up a wonderful appreciation of these absolutely warmhearted people. It even inspired me to do the same with several other nationalities and that has opened doors for me I didn’t even know were there.
