How hard is it to learn Greek for a beginner?

And can you learn from tuition manuals and audio or would you have to join a class? I really want to learn as my parents now live in Greece and I visit a lot but I can't really afford anymore classes as I'm already paying out uni fees.

Ta :)

My house is a mainly Greek speaking house hold lol
I speak Greek with my parents (they immigrated from Greece), English with my siblings.

What do you guys speak at home with your parents, siblings, etc?

How can I learn Greek fluently?

I am Greek, went to greek school, but stopped using the language. My mom speaks to me in English, my dad speaks in Greek but I always give him very simplified Greek responses. I'm obviously not a beginner, because I have the writing, prononciating etc part down, I guess If skill 1 is beginner and skill 3 was expert in the language, I'd be around a 2. I want to expand my vocabulary to be able to express myself entirely as I do in English- I've heard of the Rosetta Stone and other language learning program, but what suits my needs in order to "wow" my parents secretly and show them that i 1(i never forgot it, even though thats not true!) and 2(do it without them knowing that I got the help) in order to prove to them and their friends that I can also speak fluently in my native language. thanks!

Trying to learn Greek with Rosetta Stone?

hey, i am planning on going to Greece with my friend this summer, but my parents want to see an effort. so i told them i would learn greek with rosetta stone. will that program make me fluent enough to go to greece? p.s. im planning on getting all levels they have

I'm going to Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA in January, and my admissions counselor told me that they are going to make me learn so much Greek my brain is going to explode (not in those words)

In Bible College, do they make you learn the ENTIRE Greek language or just certain relevant parts? My parents made me go to Hebrew School was I was a kid, and they only made us learn certain aspects of the Hebrew language.. it was 2 hours of pure misery every tuesday night.

Is Greek a difficult language?
