Anyone know how to speak Greek?

Can you guys tell me some Greek words? Like I know what Yaya means, it means Grandma, and Papou for Grandpa, what else?

I'm trying to translate words and phrases from English to Greek and/or Ancient Greek, but I've had great difficulty finding an online dictionary that translates according to these two conditions...

(1) The Greek words must be in the Latin alphabet (i.e. a, b, c) NOT in the Greek alphabet (i.e. alpha, betta, gamma), and

(2) It must also NOT be "Greeklish" - the transliteration of the Greek Alphabet (i.e. letter-by-letter converstion of delta to D and gamma to G), but rather an OFFICIAL translation for that word.

I'm not sure how else to express it, but perhaps an example will help... In Greek "helios" means "sun" and "deus" means "god" and "hypnos means "sleep". These are translations in the Latin alphabet that are not transliterations. What I am looking for is a resource (preferably online) that translates any other English word (like "source" or freedom" or "flow") in that way.

If you have any information on such a website, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

The original 5 translators of the New World Translation had a combined 2 years of college in ancient biblical language. Read some of the garbage in there, its like they typed in greek words in Google Translate and copied them onto paper and printed!

some one who knows what they are talking about. how you do pronounce that phrase in greek? please copmare the sound in the greek words to sounds of english.
thanks

I need help on pronouncing something, and I tried googling it but just got random greek words. Please help me get pronunciation of these words I know what it translates to, but donnua how to pronounce

For example in the book of Revelation God says "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end." The words Alpha and Omega are Greek words so I am assuming maybe the whole book was written in Greek (vs. Aramaic for the Old Testament). So was Jesus fluent in Greek? Or is that irrelevant?

is greek ever written in english alphabet?

I was in math class and my teacher was talking about the greek symbols and how we use them in math and i was wondering if greek words are generally ever written using the normal alphabet?
