basically, my life motto is "carry your shield or come home on it". i know this is a spartan saying and i'd really appreciate knowing either the greek or the latin translation of this by someone who's studied in the grammar and correct term usage please.
"E tan, e epi tan"
"veho vestri contego vel adveho domus in is."
those are two latin translations that came from my research but i have no real knowledge of either of these languages

I am really interested in learning Greek, so I'm wondering if it is going to be a really tough language to learn all by yourself. It certainly looks difficult.
Can you also recommend me good websites that I can go to that teaches basic grammar and vocabularies?
