That would be Phaeton, the son of Helios. But he didn’t ride his chariot INTO the sun. After Phaeton had discovered who his father was, the youth went to visit him to confirm it. Helios attested to being his father and told the boy that to prove that he was his father he could ask anything of him that he desired, and that he (Helios) would be bound to the oath for swearing to the river Styx. Phaeton decided that he wanted to have control of his father’s chariot for one day, and though Helios tried to talk the boy out of it–telling him that it was a dangerous task–the boy was determined to drive the chariot. Long story short, Phaeton was not able to control the chariot and horses like his father, and when the chariot drew too close to the earth and started burning everything, Zeus decided to intervene. He smote Phaeton with a bolt of lightning, killing the boy, and his body fell into into the river Eridanus.
Might this be the story you are thinking of?
it could possibly be Apollo, the greek god who brings his chariot (the sun) into the sky every day. his sister is artemis (goddess of the moon) but thats all i know
It was greek, Helios was the sun god, and his son, Phaethon asked his father for a favor and his father agreed without asking what. Phaethon wanted to drive Helios’ chariot across the sky and he could not handle the strength of the horses, so as he rode too close to the ground there was destruction everywhere. Zeus, the ruler of all greek gods hit Phaeton with a lightening bolt killing him. His sister were so heartbroken they were turned into trees and their tears turned into amber. Hope this helps.
Phaethon rode his fathers sun chariot and got R.I.P.’d
