Example: A settler who doesn't pay much attention and brings his family to wonderful site to build, but doesn't know or ask before going if the land is sacred by a tribe of people. When a young man of the tribe approaches his oldest daughter to speak of the grounds sacredness. The daughter screams and the settler kills him without thought.
