Much of the bible was written in Hebrew and Aramaic, but the original texts were lost and only the translations into Greek survived. There are lots of written scripts older than the Greek one.

I think the New Testament was written in Greek but the old Testament was written in Hebrew. Hebrew is much older language.

Greek is definitely not the oldest written language.

The Greek Bible was written around 400 A.D. Did you think that people didn’t have written languages before this? Did you think that the Bible was the beginning of all written language?

    Well, you were wrong.

Also, the oldest bible in the world wasn’t even in Greek. It was in Hebrew and Aramaic. Neither of those are the oldest written language either.

Old Testament – original languages Hebrew and some Aramaic, translated to Greek 3rd to 1st centuries BC.

New Testament (written from around 50 AD to 100 AD) – original language mainly Greek

Greek isn’t the oldest written language because there are older written languages, like Egyptian Hieroglyphics and Sumerian Cuneiform (among many others).

First of all, the Bible is not the oldest written text in the world: there are Sumerian, Akkadian, Ugaritic, and Egyptian texts written earlier than the Hebrew Scriptures. So, even if the oldest Bible were written in Greek, this would argue nothing for the language being oldest. Secondly, the earlier portion of the Bible (Hebrew TaNaKh, Christian Old Testament) is written mostly in Classical Hebrew with some portions in Aramaic (a related language). Contrary to what at least one earlier poster has said, these Hebrew writings do not survive only in Greek translation.
