It is even more than this.
They did not have the right to owe property, they had to report to the local police authorities, for no reason (using greek language included) they got inprisoned without a trial, they lived under terrorism and oppression of their albanian neighbours.
Finally, not even "democracy", as in Albania this political system can apply (?) gave them any rights, on the contrary they were forced to leave behind the land of their fathers and the few things they possessed (seized at once by Albanians) and come to settle down in Greece.
This nation dares talk about human and civil rights !

Dear Zoi,

I guess it's easy to be agreeable in this section...
But then I thought I should better be more thought provocative.

1. The situation with "cosines" reflects Albania about 16 years ago during Enver Hoxha's communist regime (up to 1991).

This was not only the case in Albania but also in Greece during Junta and most former Eastern block countries.

2. "She told me that many people died in prison for just very funny reasons, such as because they didn't admit they were Albanians".

Many people were tortured or rotten in prison and some even died in Greece because they did not admit that they were supportive of Junta. Again a consequence of a communist/fascist regime no different than any other.

3."They deprived of the right to get married in churches, many Greeks from Albania got married after escaping in Greece."

For many years, Muslims of Thrace were deprived several of their freedom rights in Greece. Basic human rights (education, freedom of speech in radio or TV, voting, army, working in public services e.t.c.). Muslims in Greece also got married in Turkey as, until recently, the Greek state failed to recognize such weddings. EU pushed this ahead and today this Muslim minority enjoys most rights. Most... because Muslim Greeks still cannot appoint their own muftis. Even until 1998, the Greek government was allowed to revoke the citizenship of non-ethnic Greeks... EU pushed this back again and the law was revoked.

4."Also, albanian state refused to state as greeks the child that had a greek parent and an albanian parent, trying to minimize the minority."

This holds for Greece as well. Muslim Greeks married to Turks cannot claim their child born in Greece as being other than Greek (i.e. Turk). Then again Albanians cannot claim their child born in Greece as being Greek...
