Does modern greek vocabulary differ from new testament greek vocabulary?

I know pronunciation is different, but looking at the words for love, the modern greek i learned was 'philei' and new testament uses 'agapi'

^ Old English is totally unintelligible to a person who only knows Modern English. You might be able to understand Shakespeare’s Early Modern English, Chaucer’s Middle English, but try reading Beowulf. It’s not going to happen.
That said, yes, the New Testament is written in what is called Koine Greek which was the big form of Greek in the centuries surrounding the birth of Christ.

That’s like asking "Is old English different from Modern English." Very much so, but not to the point where you cant understand it.
