I have to write a 7-page research paper for my ancient Greek history class. The topic can be anything, as long as we have a solid argument. What would be some good topics to research and write about?

I know that most of the philosophical writings by Plato etc were written in Classical Greek, and I understand that there are differences between classical and modern greek. But does knowing classical greek make learning modern greek easier? Do people still speak and understand classical greek?
Thanks in advance!

One of my highschool teachers spoke ancient greek, and he claims the the word for son/servant is the same, and so is father/master
therefore there is no way to discern between the two possibile meanings, which leads me to ask if anyone has information on this or anything as i could not find anything on the internet

I've tried searching this on Google, but I can't find an answer. I'm supposed to write a Greek myth in my English class and the instructions ask the time/place, but I don't really know when mythology took place.

Me and my roommates were talking about this just now, and the two candidates were were discussing were Sean Connery ( the fact that he's hugely respected, and is the forerunner to the biggest Hollywood movie franchise [James Bond], and he has done so many films) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (The biggest Hollywood icon).
Anybody agree or can think of someone better?
Also, who'd be other Greek Gods/Goddesses?

Hint: The Werwolf has nothing to do with the answer and the Byzantine Christians stole the image from the Greeks.
There is a Byzantian cathedral with "Saint Christopher" as a Cynocephale.
Correction: Cathedral Window

After Arabic and Chinese, is it more rational to learn Greek, Japanese, or Portuguese? For example, for business purposes.

Everyone says me and my family look Greek. I can't find any websites that'll tell me for free or without signing up. Is there any signs in the way we talk, look, or act that'll help me tell?

I'm not talking about the work by Comfort and Barrett.
I mean an actual Greek text based on the earliest texts we have.
I would do it this way: For any given text, give the majority reading of the three earliest extant texts.
I would footnote the variants. That alone should give it some merit.
Note: Nestle's version used a similar methodology, except he compared master texts, not actual manuscripts.

My argument is basically that they combined history and mythology and that it effects our understanding of them today, but I can't come up with a good thesis statement for it.
@null the living darkness, that doesn't help much (although maybe I could take from it that to the Greeks Myth and History were inseparable, but that still doesn't break down to a concise thesis).

I am currently studying Latin. I realize that alot of the modern languages today inherited much of their vocabulary from Latin. The other language that I want to look into is greek. Is there advantages to it other than just speaking it? Will it help me think analitically in other fields too? Is is promotable?

I know there isn't a bible about greek MYTHOLOGY, because someone who wrote it wouldn't believe it to be mythology, but facts, if you know what I mean. But is there a bible that talks about all the greek beliefs, and includes everything about greek belief? A link or title would be greatttt!

I'm moving out to live in Athens with my partner (who is greek) in January next year and Will need to look for a Job. I'm a Cardiac nurse working in the UK at present and hopefully will be learning Greek once I move. I tired to contact the embassy in Greece regarding work but I did not find it very useful.
Right now I know a little Greek, but no where enough to even try for Greek speaking job.
Does anyone know what type of work (if any) that I might be able to get in Athens that requires English only?
Maybe private nursing jobs, ex- pat hospitals? I really don't Even know where to start looking for such jobs.
I've been told you can get greek news papers in English but I've not seen any in the local shops in Athens.
Is there anyone who has similar experience or any idea where I start?

I thought it was by Aeschylus, but I'm not sure anymore - I recall the women wanting to have a voice and the men all moving out claiming them don't need women - but then they start to feel the pain of not sleeping with the women. Men even sneak back into town to do so. The story and the author would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

I would prefer a documentary that encapsulates the genesis of the gods, their ecology, and their battles, so that would be nice, though any recommendations are welcome.
